The Brixen Cathedral is not only one of the most interesting churches in South Tyrol, but also the highest ranking. Perhaps this is why many people also refer to the cathedral as a minor basilica and a cathedral. The cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and Saint Cassian.
