Nestling peacefully at the gateway to Franconian Switzerland, Truppach lies between the 516 meter high Wachstein in the west, the Lehenberg in the south and the Marnstein in the northwest. Almost all around the Truppachtal, named after the brook Truppach, which separates the villages Truppach and Mengersdorf, is protected by wooded hills.
Anyone visiting the town of Truppach will first be welcomed by the almost forgotten Truppacher Schloss. The castle is a moated castle and a present-day castle in the district Truppach the community Mistelgau in the Upper Franconian district of Bayreuth.
