The mountain is located south of the Detmold district of Pivitsheide V.L. The western slope drops steeply to the Dörenschlucht, which makes a flat transition over the Teutoburg Forest from Lippe to the Sennebildet. Here are a quarry and a landfill. To the east the Allhornberg rises with a height of 316 m above sea level. NN up.
