The badly damaged structure was rebuilt and now even the gatekeeper could move in again. A desk, an oven, an old telephone and a lot more can be found in the gatehouse. “Everything original from the Westfalia ironworks”.
The gatekeeper used to have to collect “bridge money”. Anyone who wanted to use the bridge to Wethmar from Beckinghausen had to pay.
