The weir Beckinghausen is a two-field roller weir. A use or a water withdrawal is not available.
To restore the continuity, a bypass channel was built on the right bank, which - as far as the terrain allows - opens into the storage area about 170 m above.
The upper section of the fishway is about 220 m long and designed as stream-like waters. He has a flat slope and individual stumbling blocks to consistently reach a water depth of 50 cm to reach. In the lower section, the fishway is s-shaped around the weir. Here a natural stone basin structure is realized.
The water depth is 80 cm and the fall height between the pools is less than 15 cm. The mouth of the fish pass (the underwater entrance) was placed directly next to the weir at the end of Tosca.
This ensures optimal findability.
The function of the fishway was checked by the client. It could be proven that the fish way of all locally occurring fish species and all size classes can be found and passed.

Lippe, bridge, gatehouse and weir are great photo opportunities. You can also pause nice here. The parking lot is a good starting point for various tours.
