Veste Spantekow Fortress, the oldest and most important Renaissance castle complex in northern Germany, is located in the village of Spantekow, southwest of Anklam in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It covers an area of about four hectares (Wikipedia).

One of the oldest and most important Renaissance castles in northern Germany. Unfortunately, completely closed in 2018 due to renovation work. But it is worth seeing anyway; in front of the World War Memorial is a bench where you can take a break.
