"In Gerresheim, after passing the impressively large industrial wasteland of the former Gerresheim glassworks and the glassmakers' quarter, we come across the "Yellow Mountains" on Quadenhofstrasse, the third highlight of the day. Although I'm familiar with these Gerresheim clay-sand mountains from my early days, I've never climbed them. All that's clearly visible is a "yellow" cliff edge, testifying to the fragile nature of the hill range; the short climb leads imposingly steeply uphill at a 14% gradient; the views toward Düsseldorf are truly impressive.
