Dante Alighieri's Tomb

Dante Alighieri's final resting place is in a mausoleum in the heart of the city. The tomb containing Dante's bones is covered with marble.

With a short film contribution (in German) as part of the ARD series "Classics of World Literature" by and with Tilman Spengler, the life and, as an outstanding work, the "Divina Commedia" of
=> DANTE ALIGHIERI
(1265 to 1321) - the great poet in Italian and creator of the above mentioned "Divine Comedy". Born in Florence, he died in Ravenna and here we find his final resting place. Let's wish him that he actually - like his literary alter ego - has arrived in heaven and that he has found his dearly beloved Beatrice there.
