The castle Waldangelloch is the rest of a spur castle on a 204 m above sea level. NHN high mountain spur above the district of Waldangelloch in the municipality of Sinsheim in the Baden-Württemberg Rhein-Neckar district in Germany.
The castle, which was probably built around 1206 by the Counts of Eberstein on the front spur of the confluence of the Winkelbach and the Waldangelbach above the village, only shows the remains of the foundations of the ring wall and two corner tower buildings. The early 13th-century castle was once a pentagonal structure surrounded by a curtain wall with four corner towers of half-timbered construction. The complex probably never had a keep. The palas had three floors and had a stair tower with a spiral staircase. The castle was the seat of the Lords of Angellach until their extinction in the early 17th century. After the Thirty Years' War, Duke Friedrich August von Württemberg-Neuenstadt had the castle renovated in 1685, but it was no longer used as a mansion. In 1806 the property became the property of the Grand Duchy of Baden. Around 1860 the complex was still largely intact, albeit in a badly dilapidated condition. Around 1900 the Palas, stair tower and outbuildings were demolished. The spiral staircase was preserved and installed in the nearby Buchenauerhof. The site was leveled and temporarily served as a sports field.
