The second planned attack on the OPEL plant turned into a catastrophe for the population of Königstadt. In a few minutes the core of the ancient village of Königstädten was erased.
As we know today, people and houses fell victim to the imprecisely executed night raid of the Royal Air Force bombers on the OPEL plant. The target markings, the bomber crews reported in their evaluations after the attack, were "scattered".
