Directly to the left of the gatehouse, a monument in the form of a large sandstone column with barbed wire was created in reference to the Nazi past of Hohnstein Castle, which is intended to remind us that Hohnstein also served the purpose of fulfilling Nazi ideology during the Nazi era. A corresponding description of the column is right next to it as a steel sculpture. There is also a Hohnstein information board for explanation on site.
