But a church already existed, perhaps even a century before: in fact, during the visit of S. Carlo in 1574, "the oratory of S. Maria di Loreto in the place of Bregazzana, a member of the parish of Induno, had been inspected... small, equipped with vault, open in front and with a small altar". It was therefore a small church that was already quite well built and finished, and therefore probably not very recent.
