The church of the crucifix takes its name from a wooden crucifix, which was carved by a friar in 1673. According to some (undocumented) traditions this was a refuge for some fleeing Knights Templar, but it is much more likely that it is of a place where Franciscan brothers gathered from 1300 onwards.
