The Franz Stelzhamer Memorial is located on Stelzhamerplatz and commemorates the Upper Austrian dialect poet Franz Stelzhamer (1802–1874). Stelzhamer wrote, among other things, the lyrics to the Upper Austrian national anthem "Hoamatgsang" and lived for several years in Ried, where he also wrote his well-known work "D'Ahnl." The memorial was erected in 1911 by the sculptor Anton Gerhart.
