The heating power plant Wedel is a cogeneration plant (HKW) in Wedel, Schleswig-Holstein, which is located directly on the Lower Elbe and the border with Hamburg. The coal-fired coal-fired power plant has two blocks and two gas turbines for peak load. Characteristic of the plant are the two 151 meter high chimneys. The Elbseitige chimney, as well as two of the former four blocks, shut down.

The Wedel power plant is a combined heat and power plant and was built in 1961-1965. The plant initially served only for power generation. In 1987, however, it was rebuilt to a combined heat and power plant and in 1993 retrofitted to the latest environmental standards. The power plant consists of two blocks that can be operated separately to adapt the production to the changing power and heat requirements. It also has two gas turbines for peak load production.
