Historic tower, surrounded by a modern art redesigned central square. The Tour de Guet is 39 meters high. It was built in the 13th century, mainly from the pale yellow bricks called briques de sable typical for the coastal plain of the Département Nord. Erected as part of a fortress as a watchtower (hence the name ), in 1818 it received an oil-powered rotating beacon and also served as an optical telegraph in the first half of the 19th century.
