Turrignì (Italian: Torre di Ligny) is a seaside watchtower in Trapani, Sicily, built between 1671-1672. For centuries, guns for defense against the invasion of sea intruders, mainly Berber pirates, were installed on its roof. The tower had a strategic position that allowed it to control two seas: the Mediterranean and Tyrrhenian, the Aegadian Islands and the entire coast down to the foot of Mount Erice. It is worth mentioning that during the Second World War the tower was used by the Royal Italian Navy - Regia Marina and was also armed with cannons, this time anti-aircraft.
