Ponte Caldelas is a strategic town on the Verdugo River that connects Pontevedra with inland Galicia. Great place to start any trip, with convenient parking, a river beach, cafes, and restaurants. Be sure to visit Casa Clotilde Fernández. The eclectic house with green tiles in the global style, was built by Mama Clotilde. A visionary woman at the beginning of the last century. The house and mills located by the river operated a small power station producing electricity in 1907.
