Plötzky already had a Roland at the end of the 14th century. He stood until the beginning of the 18th century in front of the town hall, which was located in the immediate vicinity of the monastery. From 1725 a new Roland wooden figure was placed in the front garden of the rectory. It stood there until 1916 and was, like many other Roland statues, probably processed into firewood. Since 01.10.2005 there is again a Roland statue made of sandstone in the middle of the town on the street of the Romanesque, which leads through Plötzky.
