On the meadow in the valley, which is covered with oak and linden trees, is the ancient chapel of Anne. A relatively simple building, in the Gothic style, stands with its portal directly on the Eisenbach. The small bridge dating from the 17th century takes you to the other bank of the Eisenbach. The builder of the small chapel came from Marburg. The builder was knight Hermann IV Riedesel zu Eisenbach, hereditary marshal of Hesse and governor on the Lahn. In addition to Eisenbach, he also resided in the Landgrave's Castle in Marburg. He had the small church built in 1517 at the request of his wife Agnes von Hopfgarten. Ten years later he introduced the Reformation in Lauterbach. In earlier times it could only be reached via a wooden footbridge. It is the only unchanged pre-Reformation building in the Vogelsberg district.
