The Selz is a 61 km long tributary of the Rhine and one of the main bodies of water in Rheinhessen. It rises here, i.e. northeast of Orbis in the Donnersbergkreis, flows through the districts of Alzey-Worms, Mainz-Bingen, and finally flows into the Rhine in a district to the north of Ingelheim, Frei-Weinheim.
