The Mühlgraben is an artificial branch of the Werra in the urban area of Eisfeld

The mills stood on the Werra or on the Werra Mühlgraben.

Both are only a few meters apart and are crossed by the road bridge.

For pedestrians, the island between the Werra and the Mühlgraben is accessible via stairs and bridges between Herrenmühlweg and Schustergasse. The path is called "Am Wehr". Access to the water is only possible to a limited extent due to flood walls.

The main traffic on the B4 from Coburg to Erfurt used to go through Justus Jonasstraße and the Werra/Mühlgrabe. Today there is the motorway and a bypass road to the west around Eisfeld. The old B4 is no longer a federal road here.

Car traffic on the Mühlgraben is still considerable and dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians. As far as I know, there is currently no speed limit of 30, no speed limiters and no zebra crossings.

This street is very famous. The mills stood to the left and right. You don't see much of that these days.
