Detmold Castle, also known as the Detmold Princely Residence Castle, is one of the city's tourist highlights. The magnificent building in the style of the Weser Renaissance is located in the heart of the old town. The striking tower dates from the 13th century, while the extensions were mainly built in the 14th and 15th centuries. It is worth taking the time to see the historic old town. There are countless buildings from the Middle Ages, the Biedermeier period and the GrĂŒnderzeit.
