The monastery Wittenburg was a monastery founded in 1328 by the Augustinian Canons in Wittenburg. It stands on the Klosterberg as the southern tip of the ridge Finie in the district Hildesheim in Lower Saxony. After the demise of the monastery in the 16th century, it became the seat of the Calenbergisches Office Wittenburg, later to the domain. Forerunner of the monastery was built in the Middle Ages in strategically favorable place Wittenburg Castle, which was eponymous. Remained on buildings are the mighty, Gothic monastery church of 1497, the ruins of a Gothic farm building and parts of the monastery wall. The building ensemble is under monument protection.
