Note on Via Regia: The course of the road does not follow today's B 3, which was only built around 1800 as a road. It came from Hallerburg and ran across the Finie past Wülfingen and crossed the Brandenburgische Poststrasse at the northwest of Papendahl. This post road (today the B 1) did not run through Elze, but past Elze towards Mehle.
