The kiri tree is native to East Asia. The first copies came to Europe shortly after the Wars of Liberation (approx. 1835). The tree has deep roots and grows quickly. It therefore quickly binds a lot of CO2 and is therefore called a climate saver. Thanks to its long roots, it also survives periods of drought, which are deadly for native tree species. Its light wood is also in great demand in the furniture industry.
