Hiking
The oldest church was dedicated to Saint Olav, Norway's national saint, and was a smaller stone church. The church is mentioned in King Sverre's saga and must have been built around 1150.
The church has been rebuilt several times. After the fire in 1640, the church received "a large, valuable organ". An extensive restoration took place in the 1880s. The rococo furnishings of the church were then discarded and the church was then largely given its current decoration.
