Beautiful quiet place, where the Demer flows through.
The first stone was laid in 1383 and was completed 10 years later.
This maiden tower stood in a corner of the castle domain, at the intersection of Demer and Walgracht on the border of the Zichem city center. The tower was part of the defenses of Zichem. It gave an unobstructed view of attackers from all directions. But the Zichem Giant, as the tower was sometimes called, was more than a military stronghold. You can walk up the tower with a beautiful distant view. With an indication of the monument that you see in the distance as a reflection in wrought iron on the tower.
