================================================== ====
Silver sand (Translated from Dutch Wikipedia)>>Silver sand, quartz sand or white sand is a fine-grained, white, extremely pure sand with a low iron content. It consists almost entirely of quartz. Silver sand is the main raw material for the glass industry.
The sand is particularly suitable as a basic raw material for the glass industry and is therefore used in large quantities. It makes up 60-65% of the glass mass. It is not only used in the high-quality glass industry, but is also used in the fine ceramics industry as a raw material for e-mail and porcelain china, in the chemical industry and in foundries. Silicon Silicon for electronic components such as diodes, transistors and chips are also made of silver sand. It is another raw material for silicon carbide (crime) and water glass (glue).
Silver sand is also used to make fine mortar and as a substrate for artificial turf on sports fields. It is used as a floor material in aviaries. <<Reference and link to full article, (Wikipedia NL):
