Habsburg Palace in Bestwina, built in 1824 in Bestwina.

Until 1944 it was in the possession of the Habsburgs.

In 1824, Karol Ludwik Habsburg started the construction of the palace on the Bestwin estate, handed over to him by Prince Albrecht Kazimierz Sasko-Cieszyński in 1822, but the first design of the manor house, designed by Florian Jilga, existed already in 1815. The works were completed in 1826. For years, the palace was primarily the seat of administrators, mandataries and lessees. In December 1933, Leon Karol Habsburg, who was the owner of the land, moved to Bestwina with his family. Also in 1933, the manor underwent a thorough renovation, during the works, drainage was made around the building, central heating was connected, floors were replaced, and running water and electricity were connected.

Leon Karol Habsburg died in April 1939, the property passed into the hands of Countess Maria-Klothilda von Thuillières. After the outbreak of World War II, the Bestwin estates were confiscated by the Gestapo, but the family was allowed to stay there. As the countess did not declare herself to be German, she was not compensated for the lost goods. In 1944, upon hearing the news of the approaching USSR army, the Habsburgs left Bestwina and moved to Vienna. In 1945, the manor was damaged during the ongoing fighting and then plundered.

After the war, the palace was nationalized and became the seat of the commune authorities, although it also served other functions. It also housed the apartment of the commune secretary, and from 1947 a library. In the years 1954-1974, a health center functioned here. There was also a kindergarten and a communal cultural center in the palace.

Since 1998, it has been the seat of the Bestwina Commune Office, it also performs representative functions.
