The pond dam of the Lower Hutthaler pond is an active part of the cultural monument "Upper Harz Water Regale" and is under appropriate protection. The Hutthaler Graben and, for some time now, the "Hutthaler Widerwaage" water hiking trail still lead over its dam crest.
