The former Guardia di Finanza barracks in Sasso del Gallo (1,239 m) was a fixed position for the Guardia di Finanza, used to keep the movements of smugglers under control. Under a rock you can still see the ruins of an old post used for anti-smuggling already in the years 1900-1945, testifying to a very distant origin of this phenomenon. The former barracks remained operational until 1987, but today it is in a state of abandonment.
