Wat Ratchathammaram, also known as the Red Temple, is a notable religious structure on Koh Samui, Thailand. It is known for its unique red color scheme that sets it apart from other temples. The architecture of the temple is impressive and displays the typical features of Thai temple art, but with the special character highlighted by the red color.

Built in a serene setting, the temple offers a peaceful retreat for visitors and worshippers. The red walls and roofs of the temple blend beautifully with the surrounding nature, creating an atmosphere of silence and contemplation.

Visitors have admired the intricately designed details of the temple, including the finely crafted decorations and religious iconography found on the walls and gates of the temple. Wat Ratchathammaram not only serves as a place of prayer and devotion, but also as a tourist attraction that provides insight into the local culture and religious practices of Thailand.

Located just off Koh Samui's ring road, Wat Ratchathammaram attracts many visitors simply because of the large red temple building that can be seen directly from the road.

The temple is also known as the Snake Stone Pagoda or Wat Sila Ngu. A golden pagoda faces the sea next to the impressive red temple with many carvings. It has not been proven, but locals say it contains a relic of Buddha.

Incidentally, the temple is a popular location for Thai series, so that filming for television is often done here. Entry to the temple grounds is free.

Wat Ratchathammaram, also called "Red Temple" or "Snake Temple", is located on the ring road just outside of Hua Thanon town. The richly decorated red temple building can be seen from afar, the golden Chedi and the huge snake symbols down on the stairs to the beach at the cemetery are also very nice to look at.

Beautiful grounds directly by the sea and fantastic buildings ... not overcrowded and you can look at everything in peace
