You can dream on Koh Phangan...for example on Mae Haad Beach. A sandbar connects the golden beach to the small island of Koh Ma, known for its coral reefs and ideal snorkeling conditions. But the highlight are the intense sunsets on this side of the island.

Around the small offshore island of Koh Ma you can see some snorkelers, because the reef is in front of the hut door, and so you can go swimming and diving directly. It is particularly nice to stroll from Mae Haad Beach over the long sandbank to the tiny island and look for shells. This scenery is immediately reminiscent of Nang Yuan on Koh Tao - here and there the snow-white sand strips can only be seen and walked on at low tide. But then the visitor is presented with a fascinating image that is anchored in his memory.

Mae Haad Beach is also attractive because it has the most beautiful sunsets on the island and there are few tourists in this corner of the island. Most holidaymakers are younger people, backpackers or dropouts who don't want to spend too much money and are happy to do without luxury. Wooden swings and hammocks sway in the breeze, so it's easy to get into "the beach mood". A larger beach restaurant is also quite well frequented by Thais, otherwise there are only two diving schools and a few cheap bungalow resorts.
