This old warship, the HTMS Phangan, was presented to the Thai government by the United States in 1957 as a sign of good relations between the two countries.
The HTMS Phangan was of great importance to the Thai Royal Navy, as it also served during the Vietnam War. She was decommissioned in 2008 and has been here on the island since 2011. The interior of the ship has been on display in a museum since 2014.
