The "Schiefe Ebene" is a section of the Ludwig-Süd-Nord-Bahn from Bamberg to Hof (Saale), the legendary steep section between Neuenmarkt and Marktschorgast is a magnet for visitors and photographers, especially on steam days. The ramp climbs 157.7 meters in altitude over a distance of 6.8 kilometers with a gradient of up to 25 ‰. A hiking trail and educational trail runs along the “Schiefe Ebene” railway section, which is well worth seeing. With the MTB are pushing - and possibly even carrying passages to plan, difficult trail.
