A hidden memorial
At the end of the First World War, 81 men from Wyk alone were left on the field - given the approximately 300 houses in Wyk, this meant that on average every fourth household had to mourn a death.
27 fallen soldiers are listed on the hidden memorial in Suedende.
Around the stele, 56 memorial stones for the opera of the Second World War are arranged in a semicircle like a vigil.
