Hiking

Former rocket shooting range of the Wehrmacht, field office of the Nutscheid barracks. Later base of the US Army, station also of atomic tracts. Extension in Fort Ohlenrot with atomic tracts. Nutscheid and Nutscheid barracks dragged, the fort is private. On the Nutscheid distant view.

Hiking

The Nutscheid is a ridge between the rivers Sieg in the south and Bröl in the north. As the popular saying goes, a trade route in the Rhineland already led from Cologne via Siegburg through the Nutscheid to Siegerland during the Roman era: the "Roman Road".
Towards the end of World War II, there were launch ramps for V1 rockets in Nutscheid.
