Gavia Pass

In my opinion, Gavia is one of the most scenic climbs in all of Italy. Its landscape is sometimes lunar. Must do at least once in a lifetime. The effort will pay off, I can guarantee it!

P.S. : bring some lights for the passage of the gallery which is almost at the end of the climb, as the gallery is not lit.

The ascent to Passo Gavia, once out of the woods and tackling the steepest sections, offers many km with a breathtaking 360° landscape, from the snowy area of Adamello (where Calotta, Cima Salimmo, Castellaccio stand out), the slope of the Valle delle Messi with the imposing Cima Coleazzo and Cima Pietrarossa, to then - like in a film - be embraced by this plain that encompasses Cima Gavia, Corno dei Tre Signori and Cima Gaviola, with the gaze oriented towards the Dosegù Glacier (Tresero, San Matthew, etc.).
Severe landscape, but at the same time of devastating beauty.
