The Elm-Lappwald Nature Park is an important part of the Elm-Lappwald tourism region. It includes the Elm, Lappwald, Dorm, Elz and Eiz forests as well as the Helmstedter Mulde.The entire area of the Elm-Lappwald Nature Park covers an area of around 470 square kilometers. In addition to the eponymous Elm and Lappwald forests, it includes moors, springs and ponds, heaths and salt marshes. The nature park is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna and is home to many endangered species in its designated nature reserves.
