Hiking
(Even at the risk of combining this highlight with the "Schwedenpfad" and "View of Lake Constance" located here, a few words about the lonely chapel...)
The Roman Catholic chapel in Altreute is a stone building that is free-standing on all sides (about 6 meters high, 3 meters wide and 4 meters long with the bell turret) with a steep gabled roof covered with beaver tail tiles.
Was locked when I visited, but can be seen.

Over the adjacent green slopes you have an unobstructed view of Lake Constance at the confluence of the Rhine delta.

Hiking
When you step out of the forest and the sunlight hits the chapel, it's quite poignant.
