Pfänder-Anstieg

Ascent to the Pfänder from the Lochau branch of the L1 up to the crossroads, approx. 6.2 km and approx. 580 m ascent. That's an average incline of approx. 9.4%. The gradient varies between 8 and 13%. A few short pieces even 15 to 16%. There is no rest period. It is best to drive in the morning, when it is still relatively cool and shady.

Over the whole stretch there are always great views, from bottom to top. And right at the top you will be rewarded with the wonderful view of Lake Constance and the Alps.

On Pfänderstraße you have a great view of Lake Constance in many places. When driving downhill, you should always expect oncoming traffic in the narrow, not clearly visible curves.

Steep, but very nice ascent to the pledges. However, I lost my white Oakley Sutro here last week 😩 keep your eyes open, it should be somewhere to the right of the road. The finder is welcome to keep it, as long as it doesn't rot.
