Schiller temple
More than 200 years ago - on May 9, 1805 - Friedrich Schiller, one of the greatest poets of our country, died. Many cities and municipalities that are associated with Schiller and his work - Marbach and Mannheim are certainly the most significant examples - commemorated this date with numerous events.Friedrich Schiller did not live or work in Bad Überkingen! Nevertheless, one honors in the community the poet with the small Schiller Temple on a hill northeast of Bad Ueberkingen. And 100 years after Schiller's death, the then owner of the Überkinger fountain and bathing business, the Privy Councilor Carl Haegele, dismantled the small building that had previously been erected in Stuttgart to commemorate Schiller, from Überkinger Zimmerleuten, transfer it here and build it at the current location.

Temple in honor of Friedrich Schiller. If you stand inside and look up, you can read the following on the inside of the dome:It must fall from the clouds
from the gods' bosom
Fortune, and the mightiest of all rulers,
is the moment.
