The Mattelmühle am Scheidebach (Sázek in Czech, Soosbach in Egerland) was the starting point for the Mattelberg settlement in the 19th century. The German-speaking population was evacuated after 1945. Czech resettlement attempts were unsuccessful, as was the case in the neighboring Großeteich. The area was just too remote. Today hardly anything reminds of the former settlement.
