Wehratal Dam

Shortly before the descent to the dam of Wehratal dam, one has a beautiful view of the reservoir with the dam and behind the city weir. Rest on a bench.

Reservoir with a large dam. Below (accessible via a staircase) there is a hydroelectric power station. At the western end of the dam there is also a flood overflow, into whose creepy black gorge you can see.
Anyone who has followed the Wehra downhill can already perceive the transition from the energetically bubbling river to the reservoir because the noise that has accompanied them all the way suddenly stops.

Attention: Due to maintenance work, passing through the Wehra Dam is not possible from April to October 2021!
