Lascaux 1 has long been closed to the public. The location in the middle of the forest is a must-see, the area is video-monitored and fenced in, but only 200 m down the hill there is Lascaux 2, where everything has been recreated, and another 500 m further at the foot of the mountain is Lascaux 4, the last one Replica, where the original cave was reconstructed with an accuracy of 0.1 mm using the latest technology and painted true to the original.
