Location: Datteln, Kreis Recklinghausen, Ruhr Region, Münster District, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
The large lock is 222 meters long, 12 meters wide and has lifting gates at both ends. It was built between 1925 and 1927 and officially put into operation in 1931 with the Wesel-Datteln Canal. As with the other major locks on the canal, the lifting gates were renewed in the 1990s. Source Wikipedia
