The Sundial Square was installed to commemorate 750th birthday of Šiauliai. The main idea of the square is to give meaning to the three most important symbols of Šiauliai: the sun, remembering the battle of Saulė in the land of Šiauliai, the sagittarius associated with the origin of the city name and the time that has passed since the city was named the first time.
