The star shape of the village is unique in Switzerland. Fortunately, the village and the Strahlegg district have been spared major disasters and fires over the long history. A 25 cm long bronze lance tip found in Madinis (village part) dates from the Late Bronze Age. Today, experts assume that the sacrificial stone on the Arflinafurka is a fragment of a millstone with a hole.
