The Maria Hilf church was built after the Thirty Years' War in 1653-1655, but was destroyed again by imperial troops in 1703. 40 years after the reconstruction from 1703 to 1734, the next demolition followed in the great fire of Murnau in 1774. Again, it was decided to rebuild, and the current church was built.
